1. Can Malpeet K9 supply dog teams for the UK and if so what types of teams?

Malpeet K9 are able to provide many types of dog teams for the UK. Currently we are able to supply General Purpose Security Dog Teams (protection/patrol dogs). We are also able to supply Explosive Detection Dog Teams, Drug Detection Dog Teams (Passive & Proactive), Cadaver Dog Teams, Firearms Detection Dog Teams and Currency Detection Dog Teams.

2. Do you work abroad?

Yes, we are able to work abroad/overseas and we have a number of years experience operating abroad especially in hostile environments. Our dogs have pet passports enabling us to carry out work overseas.

3. Where do your staff come from?

The majority of our staff have previously served with the Military or Police and are experienced dog handlers, trainers and instructors. All of our staff are checked before starting work for us. All staff are licensed with the SIA (Security Industry Authority) and are DBS (previously CRB) cleared.

4. Do you supply course dogs?

We supply green dogs for sale in conjunction with the handlers course. Green dogs are initial trained and selected by us to guarantee the best result for the team assessment. You are welcome to bring your own dogs to general purpose security courses with no charge at all. A dog surcharge applies to all detection courses upon handlers achieving the team assessment. We will do our best to assist and assess your own dog prior to the start date of the training but we can’t guarantee the result of the assessment. 4. Does your course fee include accommodation or dog purchase?

All listed prices are for course fee only (all materials included), not including accommodation or dog purchase.

5. What types of payments are accepted? Do you take credit card payments?

We accept cash payments, bank transfer and card payments over the phone. Extra card charges by card payment service provider apply. If you would like to pay over the phone please call 0845 519 2359.

6. Is there any government funding or finical help available for the courses?

We are one of the approved training providers of ELCAS Enhanced Learning Credits. If you are eligible for funding through Enhanced Learning Credits please let us know. We also accept ReAct funding for anyone who lives or works in Wales. Please see Careers Wales website for more details.

We offer affordable payment plans with no extra charge to help you spread the costs into monthly payments, this is offered on a case-by-case basis, please speak to us if you are interested in the small payment plan.

7. What happens at the end of the training?

Upon achieving assessment of the course you will be ready to work as a qualified dog handler with a valid SIA license. The majority of dog handlers work as self-employed and will be required to supply their own transport and dogs by the employers. A responsible employer will want to see your qualification and refresher training record. It is your responsibility to maintain the record to meet the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Security Dog Handling and the training requirements contained in BS 8517-1:2009.
