NASDU LEVEL 2 NATIONAL AWARD FOR THE GENERAL PURPOSE SECURITY DOG HANDLER

Introduction
The NASDU level 2 General Purpose Security Dog Handlers course aims to provide the learner with the basic skills, knowledge and understanding required to ensure the provision of a professional level of service as a General Purpose Security Dog Handler. This Award has been developed by NASDU to meet the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for a GP Security Dog Handler and the training requirements contained within BS 8517-1:2009

For Whom Suitable
This programme meets the requirements of those learners who have experience as Security Officers who wish to become General Purpose Security Dog Handlers. It would also be suitable for members of HM Armed Forces, Police or Prison Service who wish to take on a General Purpose Security Dog Handler role with in the private sector. This is not an attendance course there are a total of 15 practical assessments to complete and a multi choice exam. You will be continuingly assessed through out with many topics intended to improve the mental and physical ability of our handlers as they learn to deal with conflict situations, violence and terrorism with realistic scenario based training.

NASDU LEVEL 3 NATIONAL AWARD FOR THE GENERAL PURPOSE SECURITY DOG HANDLER

The NASDU Level 3 National Award for the General Purpose Security Dog Handler aims to provide the additional skills, knowledge and understanding required to ensure the provision of a higher level of professional service as a Security Dog Handler.  This Award has been developed by NASDU to meet the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Security Dog Handling and the training requirements contained in BS 8517-1:2009.

For Whom Suitable
Experienced General Purpose Security Dog Handlers who wish to advance their existing skills and to meet the requirements of the BS 8517-1: 2009 which recommends Security Dog Handlers undertake continuation training.

NASDU – National Association of Security Dog Users – Accredited by HABC

*The level 3 course is an ELCAS approved course.
